MEET Dr. KERSTIN HECKER
Dr. Kerstin Hecker is a depth‑oriented psychologist and educator whose work centers on understanding the psyche, the unconscious, and the living interplay between individual, group, and somatic processes. She works experientially with people and systems to illuminate how unconscious dynamics shape relationships, leadership, and organizational life, and to support more psychologically and relationally safe environments. Grounded in somatic psychology and relational trauma work, she integrates body‑based, imaginal, and systems‑informed perspectives across her teaching, consulting, and clinical practice.
In addition to this broader focus, Dr. Hecker conducts academic research and offers individual and corporate advising on abuses of power in professional contexts, including workplace bullying, covert aggression, and the misuse of authority, with particular attention to female perpetration and its somatic and psychological impacts. These strands of work inform her university‑level teaching, executive education, and trainings for organizations seeking to recognize, interrupt, and transform harmful power dynamics.
She has presented her research findings at prestigious events such as the 14th International Association on Workplace Bullying + Harassment Conference and the 2025 and 2024 Niagara Conference on Workplace Mobbing. Her commitment to supporting individuals who have faced overwhelming adverse life events led her to pursue a Doctorate in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute and to become a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP™).
In addition to her scholarly achievements, Dr. Kerstin Hecker is a holistic counselor (SIAF) and a board-certified holistic health counselor (AADP). She has dedicated herself to studying and working with various approaches to body-oriented psychotherapy, including Interpersonal Neurobiology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dynamic Attachment Repatterning (DARe), Family and Systemic Constellations, Core Energetics, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Feldenkrais, and meditation practices.
With over 25 years of experience in corporate America, covering areas such as consumer and market research, management, sales, operations, CRM, and marketing, Dr. Hecker brings a wealth of real-world knowledge to her practice. Her formal training also includes a BA in Business Studies, which further informs her work at the intersection of psyche, body, and organizational life.
